The key problem with the transfer of heavy equipment to Ukraine is the depletion of stocks of T-72 tanks, and the lack of ammunition for alternative vehicles, writes Military Watch Magazine.

As reported, in the near future, Slovenia will provide Kyiv with M-55 tanks, created on the basis of the Soviet T-55, but with a 105 mm caliber gun standard for NATO.

At the same time, as noted, there is little ammunition for this equipment, and the shells available to Ukraine with this gun are incompatible.

“The usefulness of the M-55 for Ukraine remains highly questionable,” the publication notes in this regard.

Earlier, Russia warned the NATO countries about the supply of weapons to Kyiv. Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a statement that any shipments that contain weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia.
