BI: Russia is depleting the Ukrainian Armed Forces, preventing a new counteroffensive from launching in 2025
The Russian army is depleting the Ukrainian army, which could lead to an inability to launch a new counteroffensive next year. This was reported by Business Insider, citing military expert from the American Institute for the Study of War George Barros.
“The Russians have been smart about how they put pressure on the Ukrainians in 2024. They are reducing the forces that the Ukrainians could theoretically build up by 2025,” the publication quotes the analyst as saying.
Barros also noted that in 2025 there will come a time when the West will put pressure on Ukraine so that Kyiv shows the ability to achieve something in the combat zone, for which the Ukrainian Armed Forces may not have enough resources at that time.
In addition, the expert added that if Russia manages to maintain the initiative, then the troops will be able to carry out constant offensive operations and bring the Ukrainian Armed Forces to exhaustion.
