The media learned about disagreements between Zelensky and Zaluzhny over the counter-offensive

Disagreements arose between the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian troops, Valery Zaluzhny, and the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, regarding the completion of the counteroffensive. About it reports newspaper The Sunday Times.

According to the publication, Zaluzhny is of the opinion that the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is close to completion and at the moment it is necessary to hold on to what we have and prepare for the operation next year. Zelensky, in turn, believes that it is impossible to stop at this stage, because the patience of the Western allies may soon come to an end. The Ukrainian President is also disappointed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have not shown more progress in their summer counter-offensive.

Ukraine announced the start of a counteroffensive in early June. The Russian side has repeatedly stated that the counter-offensive does not bring the expected results to Kyiv. September 4 Putin named its “not a slippage, but a failure.” September 12 Russian President statedthat the counteroffensive does not bring results to Ukraine. On October 15 he reportedthat, despite the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing new offensive operations in certain areas, in general the counteroffensive “failed completely.”

In an interview with China Media Corporation on October 16, Putin statedthat Ukraine’s losses during the counteroffensive were eight times higher than Russia’s. On the same day, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported that during the announced counter-offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not achieve their goals in any direction.
