Are the worst horror stories of the beginning of this year really coming true, when the Russians were told that measles was also coming to us. They advised everyone to get vaccinated immediately. And for those who have been vaccinated, just in case, get vaccinated again.

“My daughter was just vaccinated, as expected,” Natalya, mother of 13-year-old Tony, who fell ill, told MK. “And her friends, who also became infected, were vaccinated, the doctors who came to the call said that vaccinations often do not work.”

True, the doctors promised that if there is a vaccination, then most likely there will be a mild course.

“Temperature forty, delirious, crying very hard and calling me all the time, and this has been going on for several days,” continues Natalya. – If this is a “light” course, then what should be considered heavy?”

In February of this year, the Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation promised the Russians measles and decided that in the period from April 3 to December 31, 2023, everyone who had been vaccinated for a long time or did not have information about the presence of this vaccine should be vaccinated against this infection, primarily the children’s population, and also adults leading a “nomadic or semi-nomadic lifestyle”, labor migrants and internally displaced persons. This process was called “clean-up immunization.” The group of those who would like to do this included children over 6 years of age and adults under 35 years of age who were once vaccinated against measles, separate categories – up to 55 years of age.

When reading the OLTC document, one gets the impression that the krants will come otherwise. Whereas the numbers of cases over the past few years do not make a depressing impression. So in 2021, only 1 confirmed case of measles was registered in Russia. In 2022 – 101 diseases.

Outbreaks have a cyclical rise, and approximately every four years there is a surge in the incidence. The previous rise was observed in 2019, when 870 thousand cases of infection were registered in the world. Looks like 2023 is another peak year. And you can’t do anything about it!

Mortality from measles today, according to WHO, is about 0.2% of the number of cases.

Compared to the fight against measles, the fight against diphtheria looks even more uncompromising: by another February resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation, 95% of citizens were ordered to be vaccinated against diphtheria by December 31, 2023.

The documents explicitly stated that representatives of the regional ministries of health should ensure that any medical exemptions from vaccination are carefully considered. And to the maximum to convince those who did not agree to this procedure. Act not by beating, as in the era of the coronavirus, but by persistent persuasion. How many, by the way, have already gone to the treatment room in four months?

A report on the implementation of “clean-up immunization” against measles and diphtheria in the field had to be submitted to Rospotrebnadzor every week from the start of the campaign until its completion. The vaccination campaign for the regions turned out to be very expensive, especially in modern times.

But the most interesting thing is that as soon as people began to be vaccinated, the incidence curve for the same measles immediately went up.

The fact that more and more new cases are being diagnosed began to be said everywhere. Over the past six months, according to various sources, several thousand cases have been registered.

The most resonant cases that the media wrote about: the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscow was quarantined in April due to sick students, in Bratsk a citizen arranged seances, after which she fell ill.

In Tatarstan, on July 28, it was reported that since the beginning of the year, 83 cases of infection have been detected in the territory of the republic, almost half of them are foreign citizens. On July 16, an outbreak of measles was detected in the Penza region – as of July 25, the number of cases was 78 people.

Is it a lot or a little? Tops in terms of incidence – the main cities, Tatarstan, Perm Territory.

But again, nowhere does the number of simultaneously sick people cross the double-digit figure.

Why then is it generally considered that this is growth and this leads to an epidemic?

If the coverage of children vaccinated against measles in our country, according to the head of the RPN Anna Popova, is approximately 97%, and this is enough to control the incidence. And even the coronavirus pandemic, during which many families postponed routine vaccinations, did not greatly affect this figure.

How many “cleansers” have taken root in recent months? There are no such data yet. It is only known that in April about 500 thousand people went for vaccinations.

Now this number is probably much higher. Moreover, in some regions there is even a shortage of vaccines. All over? Due to the influx of applicants, or as a result of sanctions, they stopped delivering from abroad?

– As I was told in one of the private clinics, there is no measles-rubella-mumps vaccine anywhere, and also there are no suppliers, and this particular vaccine will not be available until the end of the year. Most parents are either waiting or looking around the city,” a resident of Novosibirsk wrote to the editors of one of the federal publications.

Muscovite Natalya says she was terribly scared when her daughter got sick, but until the last she was sure that it was not measles. “It can’t be, because it can never be. We were taught that way. Inoculated, therefore protected.

The girlfriend of her daughter, who fell ill first, was suspected of meningitis, as severe headaches began.

“What was very frightening, the legs did not unbend. Seizures. The rash appeared in 3D. The doctors said that everything is individual.

Natalya herself does not remember whether she was sick or not. But I definitely did the vaccination in childhood, that is, 30+ years ago. “The doctor did not say to urgently run and urgently vaccinate, as I read on the Internet, within 72 hours after contact with the patient. I say: “Where are the tests? Where are the tests? How are you sure it’s measles?”

“Don’t worry, mother, the doctor said measles, that means measles, or do you want the child to have a puncture from the spine with such a needle just like that?” Natalya conveys in faces.

As a result, they were advised to take their temperature, drink a lot and be treated symptomatically. And don’t be afraid of anything. “In general, I offered to hospitalize us all, but they told me that this was not necessary, and that I should not be nervous.” The main question that still torments the woman is why did the girls get sick? And what then is the point of the new mass vaccination campaign?

Why do vaccinated children get sick? Does this mean that the measles strain has somehow changed in recent years and the old vaccine does not produce immunity?

– Yes, there is such data. The studies were carried out in the USA and in China. The fact that it is the vaccinated who get sick, and they attribute this to the fact that the measles virus mutates.

– Could this somehow be due to the fact that the virus bypasses post-vaccination immunity, and therefore the vaccine does not help?

– I cannot answer this question. I think that whoever does this will receive a Nobel Prize. Now periodically there is information in the media that there is an increase in the incidence, but personally in my environment no one got sick.

– I would never write on such a topic on command. But a fact is a fact – a friend’s children got sick, in chats there is a lot of such information from real people whose children were sick or sick. The disease is contagious, as you know, it can be easily spread further.

– I think that this is not connected with a specific outbreak, but with the fact that they want to force everyone to be vaccinated. That’s all. Perhaps there is some order to disperse the wave for this.

– But, as it turns out, the vaccine did not protect any of my personal acquaintances. So there is more anti-advertising here. Even if these are isolated cases, measles is a very contagious disease, they say, it spreads even through ventilation pipes. What should be done to avoid getting sick?

– There is scientific evidence that chronic vitamin A deficiency is a trigger for measles in children. But I do not give any recommendations, this is to doctors who directly advise patients.

– What about adults? Who is at risk? It is argued that this virus is especially dangerous just in adults. For example, I am not vaccinated and did not get measles.

How do you know you didn’t get sick?

– Mom said. I, like many in my childhood, talked with sick children in kindergarten, then everyone was quarantined, but, according to my parents, I never got sick. I don’t think this is a unique situation. Many may find themselves in such a suspended position.

– But you can’t be sure that you didn’t get sick, especially if there were contacts. There is an inapparat form of the flow, when a person is ill, but outwardly this does not manifest itself in any way, and the titer of specific antibodies increases in the blood. Understand that before the advent of vaccinations, it was exclusively a childhood infection. Once ill, the child formed lifelong immunity. Today, in the era of vaccinations, which do not give the same stable immunity, adults who have not been ill also get sick. And yes, harder than children. Therefore, it is better to get measles in childhood. As it was before.

– Maybe for those who doubt, at the same time check the antibodies? To make sure – hurt or not?

– After an infection, antibodies, as a rule, do not live in the body for more than five years. They disappear sooner or later. So the determination of measles antibodies to assess the presence of immunity may be useless. But T-cell (long-term acquired after the disease – author) immunity is formed in those who have had measles for life. Then, with a new contact of a person with the measles virus, the body will again develop antibodies.
