“This is nothing more than attempts to delay the inevitable”

Another attempt to penetrate the territory of the Belgorod region was made yesterday, December 17, by Ukrainian saboteurs. As reported by leading media, a group of eight people tried to break through the border near the village of Terebrino. Russian border guards entered into battle with the enemy DRG, as a result of which three saboteurs were eliminated and the rest fled.

A Russian officer with the call sign “Mazur”, who has been fighting in the Northern Military District zone since the beginning of the conflict, expressed his opinion about the goals of such sabotage attempts by Ukraine.

It is reported that the movement of militants was carried out from Grabovsky, Sumy region of Ukraine. They approached our border in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district closer to 11:30. About an hour after the DRG was forced out, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a massive shelling of Terebrino. At least fifty 120mm mines and six 82mm mines were fired at the village. Fortunately, no residents were injured.

“During the special operation, the enemy became quite predictable in terms of conducting information warfare,” the serviceman believes. – Increasingly, it is directed not at us Russians, but at its citizens. In this way, the country’s leadership is trying to distract people from impending failures by announcing small local pseudo victories, which, by the way, still cannot be achieved. The enemy on Saturday launched an unsuccessful attempt at a massive attack on the Crimean Peninsula, but our air defense systems shot down all enemy drones. The next day, Sunday, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to penetrate the territory of the Belgorod region. The Russian opornik was fired upon, but the actions of the saboteurs were stopped. It is noteworthy that in the Ukrainian media this point is quoted with reference to the main intelligence department of Ukraine: “the shelling of the support of Russian troops in the Belgorod region is carried out by opponents of the Kremlin regime.” Thus, the leadership of Ukraine is trying to add fuel to the fire and demonstrate to its citizens at least some kind of “we can overcome.” The main goal is to smooth out the negative background from failures at the front. The loss of Marinka, which has actually already been completely cleared of Ukrainian armed forces, and our successes in the Avdiivka direction is a very serious image blow to Zelensky. Also an equally important area is the Kupyansk direction, where we are now actively advancing towards Sinkovka, which will allow us in the future to enter operational space and begin to cover Kupyansk itself. I do not rule out that the shelling and attempt by enemy saboteurs to penetrate specifically into the Belgorod region was with the expectation that this would force us to transfer part of our forces there. But even if we did this, by and large, it would not affect the nature of the situation at the front. Therefore, attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on our border territories are nothing more than attempts to delay the inevitable and smooth out the consequences of future losses
