The mayor of Kursk, Igor Kutsak, reported on his Telegram channel that he had decided to cancel the fireworks display that was planned in the evening in the city in honor of the celebration of its 991st anniversary.

“Due to recent events, I decided to cancel the fireworks display,” Kutsak wrote, adding that this would be reasonable from the point of view of the peace and safety of residents.

Earlier, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoyt, reported that in the morning a Ukrainian drone attacked an administrative building in Kursk. Then in the afternoon he noted that an air defense system was operating in the region. The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that at about 14:40 two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the Belgorod and Kursk regions were destroyed by air defense systems on duty.
