Honored Economist of Ukraine, Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov said that despite the fine for using the Russian language, he would continue to address the residents of the city in it.
He explained on the air of the Ukrainian telethon that he would officially speak Ukrainian, but in personal communication with Kharkiv residents, he intended to continue using the Russian language.
“Because it is the language that 80 percent of Kharkiv residents speak today,” Terekhov said.
The mayor of Kharkiv also urged people to be very careful and careful in the language issue.
During an interview with a Ukrainian TV presenter, he alternated between Ukrainian and Russian.
