In the Murmansk region on Saturday, February 11, at 12:00, the All-Russian mass race “Ski Track of Russia” began. The competitions started in the sports complex “Valley of Comfort”.
The start of the race was given by the governor of the Kola Arctic Andrey Chibis. The head of the region spoke to the northerners even before the start of the competition. The skiers also met with Olympic silver medalist in athletics Larisa Kruglova, two-time Olympic silver medalist Valery Kiriyenko and world champion in summer biathlon Yekaterina Ulizhova.
According to the press service of the government of the Arctic, northerners of all ages participate in the Ski Track of Russia race. Races were organized for different distances.
Children travel only one kilometer. Participants under 19 years of age overcome the path of five kilometers, and for adult athletes there is a ski track 10 kilometers long.
The awarding of the winners of the race will last until 14:00.
