The man who “missed” 25 years ago wandered in slippers: details of the mysterious disappearance

The Rostov citizen did not appear for only a year and a half

62-year-old Yuri Takakho lost his memory and wandered around Rostov-on-Don in slippers and summer clothes. Only thanks to kind people who noticed the unfortunate man, he did not die from the cold and returned to his family. Moreover, rumors about the adventures of Takaho immediately acquired cosmic proportions: information spread on the Internet that Yuri had gone missing 25 years ago! In fact, this is not so, “MK” became aware of all the details.

On January 28, Elena, a resident of Rostov, called the hotline of the LizaAlert detachment. She said that, together with her neighbors, she noticed a man lying in the yard, who was lightly dressed, disoriented and gave only his name – Yura. They dressed the man, gave him warm tea, fed him, called an ambulance and informed the police. Patiently, bit by bit collecting information, law enforcement officers were able to find out that the man’s name was Yuri Dautovich Takakho, that he was from Adygea. The man was admitted to the hospital the same day. That same night, his relatives from Adygea came to him. Now Yuri is already at home, with his family, but he remembers practically nothing about his life.

“Indeed, there was a situation that this man disappeared and did not maintain contact with relatives for some time,” Galina, an employee of the search and rescue team, told MK. – As far as we understood, Yuri spent more than one day on the street and remembered almost nothing. But there is no reason to believe that he was mistreated or bullied.”

As we learned from a source in the health care of the Rostov region, Yuri Takakho twice from January 23 to 28 was taken from the streets of Rostov by an ambulance, but he refused hospitalization and again went to look for his family.

“Now everything is fine! Uncle Yura is at home and under the supervision of my father, – said the nephew of the “foundling” Zaur. – We live in the village of Gabukay in Adygea. Of course, we are very, very happy about the return of uncle! But I want to say that initially various media wrote on the Internet that he had been considered missing for 25 years. And he never disappeared!

– How did you not disappear? After all, the search engines officially announced that Yuri was allegedly looking for 25 years

– Not! He kept in touch with his brothers all these years, including my father. He is an adult, he is responsible for himself, once he left, and lived on his own. He doesn’t have to report to us. At one time he lived on the coast, lived in Rostov, everything was like all people. Worked, lived with someone. Free will, no one forced him forcibly. People are different, everyone does what they want. We didn’t write a statement about his disappearance. He just wanted to live his life. But I didn’t talk to him personally. He has many siblings, my father is one of them. I haven’t seen him for 25 years.

– Still, when did the relatives lose contact with him?

He went missing about a year and a half ago. Many thanks to caring people that they did not leave a person in trouble, he is completely without memory. I took him from the hospital, my father and his brothers. Uncle Yura recognized only my father. I remember when they put him in the car, he immediately fell asleep. But it’s really a miracle that we found it!

Does he remember anything at all?

– He does not remember what year it is and where he has been all this time. Now Uncle Yura is with my father, he takes medicine, he is being cared for. Most likely, he did not go anywhere further than Rostov. But he has no serious injuries, not thin, not bony. Perhaps, with age, memory loss occurred in him (62 years old, after all) or some kind of illness.

– Where will he live?

– Uncle Yura will stay with us. The doctors prescribed medicine. He walks, eats, takes care of himself and slowly comes to his senses. He will start walking more or less, we will restore his documents, he will come to his senses, maybe he will remember everything. I think he just has a temporary clouding of his mind. We are certainly glad that he is back!
