The majority of Russians are satisfied with the current Constitution of the country

Eight out of ten Russians are familiar with the main law of the country. Including 13% know the document well, showed survey VTsIOM dedicated to Constitution Day. Most respondents became familiar with the text while studying at school or university. According to the survey results, two-thirds (65%) of Russians believe that the current Constitution meets the needs of the country and its people. Most often, this conviction was demonstrated by young people aged 18–24 years (78% of respondents). Every fifth respondent holds the opposite position. Citizens with a poor financial situation answered this notice much more often (40%).

The share of those who believe that the Constitution does not fully or does not at all meet the needs of the country and people has decreased by seven percentage points over the past five years.
