“The main thing is to get into the playoffs”: SKIF coach about goals for the season

SKIF head coach Dmitry Karlov summed up the results of the first part of the season in the men’s handball Superleague.
The Krasnodar team is in 6th place with 11 points in 11 games. The same number of points at “Zenith” from St. Petersburg. In the last match of 2022 Krasnodar beat Petersburgers visiting.
– Not a bad result. If we play the same or a little better in the second round, we can count on the 4th-6th position before the playoffs, – said Dmitry Karlov in an interview with the club’s press service. But guessing is a thankless task, of course. Many strong teams are behind us now. The main thing is to get into the top eight. Ideally, start the fight not against teams that will take first and second place. With the rest, in principle, you can play.
Karlov noted the importance of nuance in the game.
– 1-2 successful shots or 1-2 imperfect losses significantly affect the outcome of matches, – the specialist emphasized.
On January 19, SKIF will play its first match in 2023. The game against the third Superleague of CSKA Moscow will take place on January 19 at the Olimp Sports Palace. Start at 19.00.
Krasnodar player Savely Shalabanov is the best sniper of the Superleague.
