The main football club of the Kurgan region will change its name

In the Kurgan region, they decided to change the name of the main football team in the region – FC Tobol. This initiative was made by the management of the club.
“We invite all fans and fans of football, the football community of the Kurgan region to help us in choosing a new name for the football club,” the Office of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kurgan Region said.
The team’s management suggests “Kurgan” as a new name. Also among the proposed options are “Trans-Urals”, “Siberia”, “45th Region”, “Zauralets”. The name “Trans-Urals” is in the lead, a third of those who voted cast their votes for it.
At the same time, some commentators write that it is better to leave the name “Tobol”.
Teams from the Kurgan region have competed at the championships of the USSR and Russia since 1960. They were called “Torpedo”, “Siberia”, “Spartak”, “Labor”, “Builder”, “Tobol”, “Kurgan”, “Trans-Urals” and “Trans-Urals”.
Voting will last until April 3rd.
Earlier, MK-Ural reported that a renovated stadium-park on Pushkin street was opened in Kurgan. Recently, large-scale landscaping work has been completed here.
Lighting was installed in the park and trees and shrubs were planted. The builders installed workout, skateboarding, football and volleyball grounds, as well as outdoor exercise equipment for citizens of all ages.
