The magistrate of the St. Petersburg court district No. 189 considered the application for divorce of two girls – Ekaterina and Elizaveta. About this story told in her Telegram channel, the head of the united press service of city courts, Daria Lebedeva.

According to the case file, the girls entered into a marriage in 2017 in Copenhagen (Denmark), which lasted six years, but in February 2023, Catherine and Elizabeth separated. The girls have no children, and they also did not argue about the division of jointly acquired property. Catherine sued because Elizabeth did not agree to a divorce.

The court examined the issue and reported that the regulation of family relations is carried out in accordance with the principles of voluntary marriage between a man and a woman, and the norms of foreign family law are not applied in our country if they contradict the fundamentals of the legal order of the Russian Federation. As a result, the court did not accept the application for divorce, since the application of foreign family law in this case is impossible.
