The meeting of the regional Olympic Council was held in Lugansk.
According to LIC information, today a meeting of the LPR Olympic Council was held at the Lugansk Youth House, at which plans to popularize the Olympic movement in the region were discussed.
The head of the Ministry of Sports of the LPR, Oleg Shershnev, noted that the Republic can develop the sports sector and form reserves, provide assistance to athletes and coaches, which will allow Luhansk residents to take a place in the Russian national teams.
The minister emphasized that the main task of the council is the development and popularization of the Olympic movement.
“We will return to the experience that we had in the Lugansk region – to conduct Olympic lessons, celebrate the Olympic Day and the Day of the Winter Olympic Games. Long-term plans are already beginning to be implemented,” LITs quotes Shershnev.
