Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the VTB forum “Russia Calling!”, said that in the first year of the long-term savings program for citizens it is planned to attract at least 250 billion rubles. By 2026, the program should grow to 1% of GPP, he added. The program will be launched on January 1, 2024.
“We expect to attract funds to projects with a long payback period, for example, the construction of infrastructure, logistics corridors, terminals, and other large-scale long-term projects. Already at the end of the first year of the long-term savings program for citizens, the volume of such investments should be at least 250 billion rubles,” said Mr. Putin.
The Long-Term Savings Program (LSP) is a voluntary savings and savings product for citizens with the participation of the state. To participate in it, you need to enter into an agreement with a non-state pension fund and transfer your pension savings to it. The state will stimulate participation in the long-term savings project with co-financing for the period 2024–2026.
Vladimir Putin signed law on PDS in July. Savings can be used after 15 years of participation in the program upon reaching age 55 for women and 60 for men. Invested personal funds before the expiration of the 15-year period can be withdrawn at any time in the amount specified in the agreement.
