The Ministry of Education has expanded the list of subject Olympiads, which will give their winners and prize-winners additional benefits when entering pedagogical universities.
Statistics show that last year the competition for applicants in some pedagogical institutes and universities was 12 people per place. That is why the Ministry of Education has increased the list of Olympiads in the pedagogical field for the 2022/23 academic year. In total, there are eight Olympiads in this additional list, three of which will be held by Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Alexey Blaginin, Director of the Department for Training, Professional Development and Social Welfare of Pedagogical Workers of the Ministry of Education of Russia, said that pedagogical competitions are held to attract talented young people to Pedagogical Universities.
“Participation in them gives an advantage to the most talented and motivated students upon admission,” Alexey Blaginin specified. – In the admission campaign for 2023, the pedagogical universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education of Russia will take into account the individual achievements of students – participants and winners of four pedagogical Olympiads, which are organized and conducted by subordinate universities.

Prize-winners and winners of Olympiads of various levels have benefits when entering universities, in particular, they can receive additional points to the results of the Unified State Examination when entering universities.
