The State Dumas from the Liberal Democratic Party are preparing a bill on the introduction of payments for married couples who have been married for 20 years. This was told to TASS by one of the authors of the initiative, deputy head of the faction Yaroslav Nilov.
According to him, “taking into account the current situation, when it is necessary to help, support motherhood and childhood, it is necessary to support the institution of the family.” It is proposed to establish payments in the amount of 20 thousand rubles. In addition, each region will be able to establish additional measures of social support.
“If people have been married for more than 20 years, let’s pay them 20,000 to each spouse, excluding district coefficients. And do this every five years,” Mr. Nilov told the essence of the draft law. He added that they want to dedicate the initiative to the founder of the party, Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
The press service of the Liberal Democratic Party specified that they intend to send the document for review to the government before the end of the spring session of the State Duma.
