The legends of the Donetsk karate school began training young champions

World champion in koshiki karate Sergei Poddubny resumed the work of the sports section in Donetsk.
After a long break, the Koshiki karate section began its work at the Palace of Children and Youth Creativity. Only a month of the school year has passed, and training for young athletes is already in full swing. Beginners and “old-timers” who attended classes before the start of the SVO are trained by an international class master of sports, world, European and Russian champion Sergei Gennadievich Poddubny.
Six years ago, in 2017, the whole world applauded Poddubny, who in a fair and uncompromising fight defeated an opponent from Japan at the World Championships in Moscow. And his winning technique became a classic of Koshiki karate – a tough full-contact form of martial arts. Now about fifty future champions – athletes of the Koshiki karate section – are mastering the same techniques.
After a forced break in training due to the ban on the work of educational organizations, the guys are ready to set themselves the most ambitious goals. So, in a couple of weeks the athletes will be waiting for the Eurasian Cup in Rostov-on-Don. As part of the preparation for the competition, the section hosted a master class by the representative of the Larin Club (an association of followers of the method of the legendary coach Vladimir Illarionov – editor’s note), owner of 3 Dan in karate Oleg Yuryevich Nasonov.
During the master class, everyone was able to get advice from the master. And Oleg Yuryevich, in turn, promised to look into the section more often. Moreover, more and more children come to classes with award-winning trainers every day. And more experienced athletes, who have been training in the section for up to 10 years and who bear the titles of champions of Donetsk, DPR, prize-winners and winners of the Russian championships, are ready to improve their technique and move towards new achievements.
By the way, Sergei Poddubny noted that suddenly there were a lot of girls among those who wanted to try their hand at the tough full-contact form of martial arts.
“I will create a women’s team!” – the coach jokes.
