The Yakutsk City Court has sentenced Anatoly Nogovitsyn, the leader of the local branch of the Yabloko party. The court found him guilty of discrediting the army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code) and imposed a fine of 200 thousand rubles. on account of the prohibition of certain actions imposed on the person involved in the case in September 2022. The publication of the politician came out in his Telegram channel.
The criminal case was initiated in September 2022. As a preventive measure, the court chose a ban on certain actions for him – the leader of the regional branch of the party could not use the means of communication and leave the house at the wrong time. Also, according to the order of the investigation, Anatoly Nogovitsyn underwent a psychiatric examination in October. The forensic experts of the Yakut psycho-neurological dispensary confirmed that the politician is healthy and does not need compulsory treatment.
“We feared that there might be a suspended sentence and a heavy fine. Of course, I don’t plead guilty, but things could have been worse,” Mr. Nogovitsyn told Kommersant. The politician noted that the regional branch of the party plans to run for the State Assembly (Il Tumen) in September. “If the list of signatures is removed, most likely we will participate in the mayoral elections in Yakutsk, since there is no need to collect signatures,” he added.
Recall that in 2023, 61 election campaigns are planned in the republic, including the Yakut people to elect the head of the republic. Also this year, parliamentary elections to Il Tumen and the Yakutsk City Duma will be held in Yakutia. The composition of the district councils of deputies will be updated in 21 districts of the republic.
