The LDPR Congress nominated Leonid Slutsky as a candidate for President of Russia

The 35th pre-election congress of the LDPR nominated the current head of the party, Leonid Slutsky, as a candidate for the Russian presidential elections, which will be held in March 2024. The congress was broadcast on the party’s page in “In contact with”.
The decision to nominate Leonid Slutsky was made by secret ballot. He was the only candidate listed on the ballot. The nomination of Leonid Slutsky was supported by 106 delegates of the congress. A total of 108 ballots were issued, two of which were declared invalid.
December 18 documents for participation in the presidential elections at the Central Election Commission submitted current Russian President Vladimir Putin. December 17 initiative group supported nomination of journalist Ekaterina Duntsova for President of Russia. Former DPR Defense Minister Igor Strelkov (who is in pre-trial detention center on charges of public calls for extremism) and Dolgoprudny municipal deputy from the Union of Right Forces Boris Nadezhdin are also planning to run. The Russian presidential elections will be held over three days, from March 15 to 17, 2024.
