A criminal case may be opened against the Soviet and Russian figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova after words about her colleague Eteri Tutberidze about doping of figure skater Kamila Valieva. The publication writes about this “Newspaper. Ru” with reference to a criminal lawyer.

“Punished by a fine of up to one million rubles or imprisonment of up to two years, but it is clear that there will be no imprisonment here,” the lawyer explained.

In his opinion, even if a case is initiated and the court finds Tarasova guilty, then “everything will cost a minimal fine.” However, the expert noted, Tutberidze actually has “no chance” of filing a claim against his colleague.

“I am convinced that this will not happen. Tarasova only expresses her position on how the drug could end up in the athlete’s body, but does not spoil the honor and dignity of a particular person,” he concluded.
