Russian cosmonaut Konstantin Borisov will fly to the International Space Station (ISS) as a Crew-7 mission specialist. This is reported by TASS with reference to a NASA representative. “NASA and SpaceX are now planning to launch the Crew-7 missions on August 25 at 03:49 U.S. East Coast time (10:49 Moscow time – approx. TASS),” the message says.
The department stressed that the launch could be postponed to August 26 or 27. Together with Borisov, the Crew-7 crew will include NASA astronaut Jasmine Mogbeli, Dane Andreas Mogensen, and Japan Aerospace Agency astronaut Satoshi Furukawa. Astronaut Alexander Grebenkin is expected to leave for the ISS in 2024.
In July 2022, Roscosmos signed an agreement on a joint cross-flight of Russia and the United States to the ISS, which implies three flights of Russians. The program was later expanded by one mission. Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev, Dmitry Petelin (TASS special correspondent on the ISS), Andrei Fedyaev (NASA astronauts Frank Rubio, Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg), as well as UAE astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi, are now carrying to the ISS. In addition, UAE cosmonauts Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin are now on duty at the ISS.
