The labor victory over Admiral was Traktor’s fourth in a row

In a difficult match with the unyielding Admiral, Traktor won in overtime 3:2. The Chelyabinsk team had to show character to extend their winning streak to four victories. The hosts’ goals were scored by Buddy Robinson, Sergei Telegin and Maxim Shabanov.

“Traktor” approached the match with “Admiral” as a favorite. The Chelyabinsk team had a series of three victories behind them, in two of which they “shipped” five goals to their opponents. And the Far Eastern club, although it plays good hockey, closes the Eastern standings. The composition of the Chelyabinsk team has not changed much, but there have been a number of interesting changes in the fourth line. Egor Popov returned to the center of the attacking trio, Mikhail Kotlyarevsky moved to the edge, and Alexander Sharov found himself in the role of the 13th striker. Maxim Marushev was removed from the squad as part of the rotation. The place in goal was once again entrusted to Zach Fucala.

In the first period, Traktor resembled itself at the beginning of the season: with dangerous moments, a toothless majority and zero results. And “Admiral” took advantage of almost its only chance during the period: Ruslan Ibatullin scored after a mistake by Artyom Blazhievsky and with the passivity of Sergei Telegin.

The key event of the second period was a dirty trick by Admiral defender Colby Williams against Mikhail Kotlyarevsky. The Chelyabinsk striker then left the site holding his head, and Traktor captain Sergei Kalinin explained the situation to Williams with his fists. The judges assessed Colby’s performance as a 5+5+20 minute penalty. As a result, the hosts received a large majority, but converted it only once. Buddy Robinson won the penny and screened the puck into the goal after a pass from Semyon Der-Arguchintsev. And later “Traktor” realized another majority. Sergei Telegin fired powerfully and accurately from the blue line, putting the “black and whites” ahead.

In the third period, Mikhail Kotlyarevsky was able to return to the ice. Fortunately, his injury was minor. “Traktor” did not hesitate to play on the score, but in the end it still did not maintain the minimal advantage. Dmitry Buchelnikov did the best job in front of Zach Fucale’s goal and equalized the score. Overtime did not last long: Maxim Shabanov, with the support of his teammates, went through the entire Admiral zone and beat the goalkeeper.

3:2 – a strong-willed victory for Traktor, which becomes the fourth in a row for the team. The two points gained improve the position of the Chelyabinsk team in the table and call into question the prefix “i. O.” for Alexey Zavarukhin. If the re-match with Admiral on November 3 has a favorable outcome, ex-Traktor captain Zavarukhin may receive a full-fledged head coach contract until the end of the season.
