One of the brightest trends in the capital’s labor market today is the demand for highly qualified workers and engineering and technical personnel, said Igor Shashkin, First Deputy Director of the My Job Center for Employment conferencesorganized by Kommersant Publishing House. According to him, more than 200 industrial enterprises in Moscow are recruiting about 3 thousand employees with the support of the employment service.
“The shortage of highly qualified personnel is the biggest problem in the labor market. Starting from the end of last year and today, what is happening in the industrial sector is, of course, surprising on the one hand, but very difficult on the other. It is now almost impossible to close positions in the industrial sector, and the need is very high… The activity of both the Moscow government and, in principle, the state is aimed at bringing blue-collar workers back to the market, in which there is a great need, ”said Mr. Shashkin.
How previously wrote “b”, the official unemployment rate in Russia in January 2023 was 3.6%, once again updating a historical low. According to the government, the number of registered unemployed in Russia amounted to 563.6 thousand people. Under the recruitment subsidy program, employers applied for 41 thousand jobs, most of all in Moscow (3.7 thousand), Krasnoyarsk Territory (2.8 thousand) and Tatarstan (more than 2 thousand).
