The Kuban team won the silver medal of the Russian Athletics Championship. The competitions were held this summer in Chelyabinsk. 800 athletes from 64 regions of the country took part in the competition. Krasnodar Territory presented 51 athletes.
The vice-governor of the region, Alexander Vlasov, said that in the individual standings, Kuban athletes had 26 medals. So, athletes of the region won 11 gold medals, 8 silver and 7 bronze. According to the results of the team standings, the representatives of the region scored 816 points and became the second, losing to the Muscovites. “The worthy performance of our athletes is the result of exhausting training and the professional work of the coaching staff. The Kuban School of Athletics is confidently among the top three leaders of the country,” said the Minister of Sports of the Kuban, Serafim Timchenko.
Earlier, “MK in the Kuban” wrote that Juniors of the Krasnodar Territory won 18 awards at the All-Russian Sports Contest for the Disabled.
