The Kremlin will monitor reports on the meeting between US President Joe Biden and President Xi Jinping, said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“Of course, each such meeting of the two largest economies in the world is important for everyone, so one way or another, of course, we will monitor the messages that will accompany this meeting,” he said.

The Kremlin spokesman noted that the United States and China are building bilateral relations and this is their right, so “this is not a topic that is widely on our agenda.”

Biden and Xi Jinping are scheduled to meet at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in San Francisco, which will be held from November 15 to 17. The previous time the heads of state met was on November 14, 2022, on the sidelines of the G20 leaders’ summit in Indonesia. Then the negotiations lasted more than three hours. At the last meeting, Biden warned China against conflict with the United States and noted that Washington will continue to actively compete with Beijing, but rivalry should not develop into conflict.

The forum includes 19 countries and two territories, including Russia, China, the USA, Japan, Canada, etc. Russia will also be represented at the summit. The Kremlin said that they would inform in a timely manner who would go to the event.
