The Kremlin urged “to be patient” on the subject of amendments to military registration

The amendments discussed today in the State Duma on a unified register of persons liable for military service and receipt of subpoenas in electronic form raise a large number of questions from the population, which will be clarified, it is necessary to be patient. This was stated to journalists by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“The bill goes through the thought. And there are a lot of questions that come up. And of course, if people have questions, then it is the duty of both the state machine and our people’s deputies to clarify these issues. So here you just need to be patient,” he said.

According to Peskov, the ongoing work to modernize the military accounting system is “absolutely necessary,” since the initial stage of the SVO revealed problems in it.

“Therefore, we need to improve this, we need to digitize this system so that it becomes really understandable, fast, informative and easy for all citizens,” he added.

Peskov today also declaredthat the discussed changes on the unified register of conscripts and the receipt of subpoenas in electronic form are not related to mobilization.

Amendments to the law “On military duty and military service”, which involve the digitalization of the military registration system, are currently being considered in the State Duma. The bill amends the norms for serving summonses – in addition to receiving them in paper form against signature and through the employer, it will be possible to deliver them by registered mail, at the MFC and electronically in the personal account at the State Services.

Andrey Karatpolov, chairman of the Duma Committee on Defense, clarified that an electronic summons will be considered received from the moment it is posted in the personal account of a person liable for military service at the State Services. At the same time, if the summons is not considered served in one of the possible ways, then the summons “is considered served upon the expiration of seven days from the date of its placement in the Register of Summons,” the document says. The creation of this register is also provided for by the amendments. At the same time, according to the amendments, from the moment of receipt of the summons and until the appearance in the military enlistment office, citizens can’t leave Russia. Updated rules for obtaining subpoenas to appear in military registration and enlistment offices touch not only conscripts, but also all those liable for military service, Kartapolov emphasized. For the current spring call for amendments to apply will not.
