Peskov: The Kremlin is not participating in the discussion about the possible return of the death penalty

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the discussion that arose after the terrorist attack at Crocus on the possibility of lifting the moratorium on the death penalty in Russia.

“We are not currently taking part in this discussion,” Peskov said.

Previously, parliament said that such a discussion was underway, but was not a priority issue. Senator Andrei Klishas said that the moratorium cannot be lifted now, but theoretically there is such a possibility in the future.
