The Kremlin revealed the details of the meeting between Putin and Mishustin

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin reported on favorable macroeconomic trends. This was announced by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“Late yesterday, in addition to the events that you saw, the president held a working meeting with Prime Minister Mishustin. Mishustin reported to the head of state on very favorable macroeconomic trends, gave new data on development rates, inflation, and so on, which are quite impressive in the current situation and inspire optimism,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov noted that the meeting was not connected, for example, with personnel changes in the government. “Indeed, we do not show these meetings every time. Of course, they are in constant dialogue, in daily dialogue. More often this happens over the phone, less often it happens during such face-to-face meetings,” the spokesman said.

On July 4-5, Putin and Mishustin held a working meeting. Premier declaredthat the volume of Russia’s GDP in 2023 may grow by more than 2% if “there are no force majeure circumstances.” In addition, the prime minister noted that GDP growth in May amounted to 5.4% (compared to last year), and since the beginning of the year – 0.6%.

Putin, in turn, stressed that the economic indicators of the Russian Federation turned out to be better than forecasts, which gives hope for the solution of all the tasks set during the year.
