On December 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed Al Nahyan, informed Kremlin press office.
During the conversation, the heads of state discussed the further development of Russian-Emirati cooperation “taking into account the agreements reached during the summit meeting on October 11 in St. Petersburg,” the Kremlin reported. Vladimir Putin and Mohammed Al Nahyan also discussed the promotion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Kremlin, during a telephone conversation, the effectiveness of joint work within OPEC + to ensure the stability of the global oil market was noted. “In this context, the situation was touched upon in connection with the attempts of a number of Western countries, contrary to the principles of world trade, to introduce anti-market restrictions on the cost of Russian oil raw materials,” the Kremlin’s press service noted.
Russian-Emirati contacts at various levels will continue, the Kremlin added.
October 11 President of Russia negotiated in the Konstantinovsky Palace in St. Petersburg with the President of the United Arab Emirates. In his opening speech, Putin noted the desire of the UAE President to contribute to the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine and called this a significant factor that could affect the situation.
“We are also actively working within the framework of OPEC Plus,” the Russian president noted. “Our actions are aimed at creating stability in the world energy markets, so that both consumers of energy resources and those involved in mining, suppliers to world markets feel calm, stable and confident.” Then Putin also spoke about the need to discuss the situation in Syria with the President of the United Arab Emirates.
