Journalists asked Dmitry Peskov how the Kremlin reacted to the decision of the Military Court of Appeal, the changed sentence of sociologist Boris Kagarlitsky.
In December, he was sentenced to a fine of 600 thousand rubles and released in the courtroom. However, today he was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony and was taken into custody again.
Media representatives recalled that Vladimir Putin in October 2023 promised to look into the Kagarlitsky case, for whom the Valdai Forum participants stood up.
“I cannot say whether the president is aware of the decision (which was made today by the Military Court of Appeal),” Peskov said.
He stressed that the Kremlin in any case cannot comment on the court’s decisions and will not do so.
