Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov responded to the proposal of the association of entrepreneurs for the development of business patriotism “Avanti” to introduce a six-day work week. He pointed out that the Kremlin has no position on this initiative.

Earlier today, May 22, Izvestia reportedthat representatives of “Avanti” turned to the head of the Ministry of Labor of Russia Anton Kotyakov with a proposal to establish a six-day working week. According to the authors of the initiative, an increase in the working week will help to increase the strength of the Russian economy in the face of sanctions.
A five-day work week with two days off was introduced on March 7, 1967 by a resolution of the Central Committee of the CPSU. According to the labor legislation of Russia, the normal duration of the working week is no more than 40 hours.
