The Kremlin denied the revision of the terms of pardon for participation in the SVO – Kommersant

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that in order to receive a pardon for those participating in a special military operation, the former convict must spend some time as part of the assault troops. According to him, there were no revisions to this condition.

The day before it became known that Nikolai Ogolobyak, a member of the Satanist sect from Yaroslavl, had been pardoned. Cultists killed four teenagers for the sake of a ritual. Commenting on this pardon, Dmitry Peskov noted that “now everyone is studying these lists of those pardoned very carefully.”

“But we are talking about certain conditions that are associated with being on the front line, serving a certain time on the front line, participating in assault groups, and this is followed by a pardon. There were no revisions in this regard,” he noted.

Previously Dmitry Peskov saidthat the decision on pardon is made by commissions of various levels up to the federal level, after which the documents are sent to the president; or the convicts “atone with blood for their crime on the battlefield,” acting “in assault brigades, under bullets, under shells.”

A number of those convicted of serious crimes that have received wide public attention have already received pardon: ex-employee of the Organized Crime Control Department Sergei Khadzhikurbanov, convicted of the murder of Novaya Gazeta journalist Anna Politkovskaya; Vladislav Kanyus, who killed his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend; a resident of Arkhangelsk who beheaded his partner; two men who killed a 34-year-old resident of Berdsk in the Novosibirsk region; brothers Evgeny and Vladimir Tatarintsev, who raped and killed girls aged 18 and 19 in the Kaluga region.

Deputy Minister of Justice Vsevolod Vukolov said in October of this year that Russia had reached a historic minimum of prisoners. The head of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC), Valery Fadeev, said that the authorities are monitoring cases of pardoning convicts taking part in hostilities that resonate in society.
