The Kremlin confirmed the meeting between Putin and Erdogan on September 4 in Sochi

The meeting between Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be held in Sochi on September 4, said the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
“Indeed, negotiations will take place on Monday. They will go to Sochi. It will be the middle of the day,” he answered the question about the talks between Putin and Erdogan.
Putin and Erdogan agreed to meet during telephone conversations on August 2. The leaders of Russia and Turkey intend to discuss, among other things, the issues of settling the situation in Ukraine and extending the grain deal. On August 28, Peskov confirmed that Putin’s meeting with Erdogan would take place in the near future.
The grain deal was concluded on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Turkey and the UN, on the one hand, and representatives of Russia and Ukraine, on the other. As part of the negotiations, two agreements were signed between Moscow and Kiev. The first is for the export of Ukrainian grain from three ports, including Odessa, Yuzhny and Chornomorsk, the second is for assistance in the export of Russian grain and fertilizers. Moscow has repeatedly stated that the second part of the deal is not being implemented.
On July 17, Russia left the Black Sea Initiative, which was signed on July 22, 2022 by representatives of Turkey, the UN, Russia and Ukraine. The Kremlin explained this by the failure to fulfill the second part of the agreement, which concerns, among other things, the lifting of restrictions on the supply of Russian products.
On August 31, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan discussed in Moscow, regional and international issues on the eve of the meeting of the presidents of the two countries. The parties, among other things, considered the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the supply of 1 million tons of Russian grain to Turkey at a reduced price for subsequent processing at Turkish mills and shipment to the most needy countries in the world.
