The Kremlin commented on the attack of drones on Moscow

The drones that attacked Moscow on the morning of July 24 have been neutralized, and questions about the development of the defense system should be directed to the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

“This is a question that probably concerns our relevant department more. This is the Department of Defense. These current drones have been neutralized. That is, measures are being taken in this regard. But as for the development of the defense system, ensuring its more intensive work, this is a question for the Ministry of Defense,” he said, answering the question of whether any work has been done to improve the air defense system.

Peskov also did not answer the question of how the Kremlin assessed the work of the air defense system in comparison with the drone attack at the end of May, and sent him to the Ministry of Defense.

According to a Kremlin spokesman, the number of drone attacks on Russian regions has indeed increased in recent days. He stressed that in this regard, hard work is being done every day and security measures are being taken. “Everyone who is involved in ensuring the security of our regions, they are all on the alert, everyone is taking measures,” Peskov added.

On the night of July 24th stopped attack of seventeen drones on the territory of Crimea, fourteen of them were suppressed by electronic warfare systems (EW) and three were destroyed by air defense systems. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry, emphasizing that no one was injured as a result.

In addition, on the morning of July 24, two drones attacked two non-residential buildings in Moscow. According to the Ministry of Defense, they were suppressed by means of electronic warfare (EW). After the drone attack, the Moscow Department of Transport announced the blocking of traffic along Komsomolsky Prospekt from house 18 towards the Moscow Region, and traffic on Likhachev Avenue was also blocked. Both avenues are located in the south of the capital. According to the emergency services of TASS, the building at Komsomolsky Prospekt, 17, as well as the business center on Likhachev Prospekt, whose windows were broken on the last 17th and 18th floors, were damaged by the fall of the drones.
