The Kremlin commented on Gladkov’s words about “questions to the Ministry of Defense”

As part of the special operation, working questions constantly arise that do not remain unanswered. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“In the framework of a special military operation, very complex, intense work is being carried out. As part of this work, operational questions constantly arise, which are asked and answered. This is a normal situation,” he said.

On May 23, during a live broadcast on the VKontakte page, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov, answering a question about the reasons for the penetration of Ukrainian saboteurs into the region, said that he had “even more questions for the Ministry of Defense” than residents of the region. At the same time, the head of the region refused to comment on the work of the defense department, saying that it was “wrong.”

Gladkov added that ensuring the safety of the residents of the Belgorod region is the main task of the law enforcement agencies. He also noted that it is necessary “to draw conclusions based on the mistakes that have been made.”

On May 22, a sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Belgorod region. The authorities of the region introduced the regime of counter-terrorist operation, the next day it was removed. As a result of the incident, one resident of the village of Kozinka died, and 13 more people were injured.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation connected the incident with the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemovsk. During the CTO, the Ukrainian DRG was liquidated and defeated. As a result, more than 70 saboteurs, four combat armored vehicles and five pickups were destroyed. clarified in the department.

The day before, on May 23, the Kremlin stated that the members of the Ukrainian DRG who had entered the territory of Russia were Ukrainian militants. Peskov did not disclose the number of saboteurs and their identities. He also emphasizedthat the special operation will continue in order to “prevent such infiltrations in the future” and stop the activities of Ukrainian militants against Russia.
