The Kremlin called the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Europe a normal process

Kazakhstan’s development of relations with European countries is a normal process; Moscow has its own relations with Astana, which it values, said press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
During a conversation with reporters, he was asked to comment on the sudden “increased interest in Kazakhstan” on the part of European leaders.
“I don’t agree with you. There is nothing sudden; naturally, Kazakhstan is developing relations with European countries. This is a completely normal process <...> Kazakhstan is developing relations with those states that are more in line with its interests; this is absolutely normal. And we have our own relations with Kazakhstan, which we value,” Peskov said.
Peskov also commented on the words of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban that Kazakhstan is historically “the home of Hungarians.”
“Indeed, there are historical roots, there is one large group of languages - the Turkic languages, which includes Hungarian, this is what Mr. Orban had in mind,” he noted.
On November 1, French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit and held talks with Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. After negotiations between the leaders in a narrow format, communication continued in an expanded format with the participation of delegations from the two countries. During negotiations in a narrow format, Macron and Tokayev discussed the prospects for the Kazakh-French strategic partnership, strengthening political dialogue, as well as the development of cooperation in a number of areas, including trade, economic, energy, investment, etc.
