The Kremlin called Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan successful

The visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan was successful, the parties agreed to continue to expand cooperation, said the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

“Yesterday was a very convenient opportunity to compare notes to discuss current issues. The relationship agenda is huge. Political will, technological and logistical readiness to continue and expand this interaction have been confirmed in all areas. The visit was successful,” he said.

During his conversation with journalists, he was also asked whether French President Emmanuel Macron, through Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, conveyed any message to Moscow.

“No, the topic of Kazakh-French relations was not on the agenda, and it should not have been. These are completely different areas of interaction. We have our own relations with Kazakhstan. This is a special, allied, partnership, strategic relationship,” Peskov replied.

Vladimir Putin visited Kazakhstan on November 9 on an official visit, during which he held talks with the country’s President Tokayev. As a result of the visit, a joint statement was adopted by the two presidents on the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Good Neighborhood Treaty between the countries, and six other documents were signed. Among them are a joint action plan between the two countries for 2024–2026, a memorandum of the Ministry of Energy on the construction of the Kokshetau Thermal Power Plant, the Semey Thermal Power Plant and the Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant in Kazakhstan, an action plan between the Federal Customs Service and the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, etc. .
