Peskov: the grain deal will not be resumed in the previous format
The grain deal will not be resumed in the previous format, since the Russian part of it was not fulfilled then. This statement was made by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, reports aif.ru.
“There are no prerequisites for resuming the grain deal in the form in which it was discussed and not implemented in relation to Russia…,” said the Kremlin official representative.
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, Gennady Gatilov, said that a meeting of representatives of the Russian Federation and the UN is scheduled before the end of February regarding a memorandum on the export of grain and fertilizers, which was concluded simultaneously with the grain deal.
We are talking about unfreezing the export of products and fertilizers from the Russian Federation, connecting Rosselkhozbank to the Western payment system SWIFT, establishing the operation of the Tolyatti – Odessa ammonia pipeline and other measures. It was these agreements that were not fulfilled.
