Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented to reporters on the meeting of Chinese President Xi Jinping with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, at which the Chinese leader spoke in favor of convening an equal international peace conference to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, which would be recognized by both Russia and Ukraine.

Peskov called China’s approach to resolving the Ukrainian crisis “balanced and constructive.”

“I repeat once again, we are well aware of what Beijing is offering,” said the head of the Kremlin press service, adding that China remains highly diplomatically active. He also noted that the special representative of the President of the People’s Republic of China on this issue is actively traveling and came to Russia and conveyed Beijing’s point of view.

“Therefore, here, rather, we welcome Beijing’s balanced position,” Peskov said.
