The Kremlin appreciated the possibility of Lukashenka’s participation in negotiations on Ukraine

Now there are no prerequisites for the start of peace negotiations with Ukraine. This was stated by the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

“As for the negotiation aspect in the context of the Ukrainian crisis, we can repeat once again: at the moment, there are no prerequisites for such a possibility. We know that this is absolutely excluded by Kiev, absolutely excluded by the countries of the collective West. There are no prerequisites for this,” he said.

At the same time, commenting on the possibility of the participation of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in the negotiation process, Peskov recalled that Putin and Lukashenko have developed “not just allied, but also friendly relations.” Peskov also drew attention to the fact that the Belarusian leader has extensive experience and is “hardened in various battles.”

“Of course, the exchange of views of the president and the coordination of actions and so on is what happens on a daily basis. This dictates the nature of our special relations of the Union State. Especially when the element of security and coordination in the field of security comes to the fore against the backdrop of aggressive manifestations around our countries,” Peskov concluded.

Thus, the Kremlin commented on the statement of the head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov that Lukashenka could take part in the negotiation process. He made this statement after the situation around Wagner PMC was settled in Russia.
