On May 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, who is in Russia on an official visit. About it informed Kremlin press office.
“It is planned to discuss the prospects for the development of Russian-Eritrean relations in various fields, as well as topical issues on the regional and international agenda,” the Kremlin announced.
In March, Putin spoke at the plenary session of the international parliamentary conference “Russia – Africa in a multipolar world”. Moscow “has always paid and will continue to give priority to cooperation with African states,” the president noted, calling it one of the invariable priorities of Russian foreign policy. In his opinion, Africa will become one of the leaders of “the emerging new multipolar world order.”
Last summer Putin declared about Russia’s intention to develop relations with Africa.
