The Kremlin allowed a new meeting of Naryshkin with the head of the CIA

A new meeting of the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of the Russian Federation, Sergei Naryshkin, with the head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns, is not ruled out, but the date of the negotiations is not yet known. This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“It is really impossible to exclude it (the meeting of Naryshkin and Burns. – Approx. Vedomosti). And, of course, there are benefits in such a dialogue. The exact dates are unknown,” he said.

Earlier today, in an interview with TASS, Naryshkin admitted the possibility of a new meeting with the head of the CIA, William Burns. He noted that the date of the talks could be determined by the parties “by agreement.”

Naryshkin also said that Russian intelligence services are discussing the topic of the Ukrainian crisis with the heads of European intelligence services by phone. During the conversation with journalists, Peskov refused to answer what exactly the heads of special services were discussing, redirecting the question to the Foreign Intelligence Service.

The meeting between Naryshkin and Burns took place on November 14, 2022 in Ankara at the headquarters of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization. According to the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, topics for discussion steel nuclear safety and Ukraine.
