The branch of United Russia (ER) in the Krasnoyarsk Territory proposed to the leadership of the party the candidacy of the former governor of the region Alexander Uss for the position of senator in the Federation Council (SF), the press service of the regional branch of ER told Kommersant. Now Mr. Uss is a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory from United Russia.

“Candidature (Alexandra Ussa.— “b”) is being approved by the General Council,” the press service said. The post of senator from the Krasnoyarsk Territory was vacated after Valery Semenov folded his powers in connection with the transition to the post of vice-governor of the region.

May 25 Krasnoyarsk branch of ER turned with a request to transfer to Alexander Uss the vacant mandate of a deputy of the local legislature. The place was vacated in mid-May, when Nikolai Kreminsky resigned his mandate, citing personal circumstances.

Alexander Uss resigned from the post of governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in April this year. Then, after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said that “he received an offer to continue working at the federal level, but at the same time to deal with issues of socio-economic development of our region.”
