The Krasnodar Department of Physical Education and Sports held over 260 sports events over the year

In the capital of Kuban, the Department of Physical Education and Sports held over 260 sports events over the past year. Thus, in the regional center, 108 championships, 64 championships and 96 other competitions and physical education events were organized over 12 months. Over 117,000 people took part in them, including 96,000 minors.

Moreover, last year many events took place for the first time or were revived. For example, in March the extreme power festival “Power of the Yards” was held. He was joined by 8 athletes from the region. Participants pushed cars weighing almost 2 tons, flipped wheels, and also competed in a relay race with equipment weighing up to 90 kilograms. This large-scale project united 12 tournaments around the region. At the end of spring, a final was organized in the capital of the region on the “City Center” square, in which 18 people competed for awards.

In addition, in the summer, according to the project “Charging. KRD” morning exercises were held for citizens on Pushkin Square and in the Solnechny Ostrov park. Famous athletes took part in the event: world champion in Thai boxing Valeria Albul, silver medalist of the Olympic Games in Tokyo Muslim Gadzhimagomedov, volleyball players of Dynamo Krasnodar Yulia and Alina Podskalny and other athletes. Over 1,600 people attended the training.

A mini-football tournament among neighborhood teams was also organized in the city. The competition was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Krasnodar from the Nazi invaders. Over 3,000 children in 2 age groups took part in the competition: born in 2010–2011 and 2012–2013. From May to June, the first stage of the All-Kuban street basketball tournament among neighborhood teams for the Governor’s Cup took place in Krasnodar. Over 44,000 children fought for victory. In addition, in the summer the city hosted the 1st and 2nd stages of the All-Kuban street football tournament for the Governor’s Cup. Over 45,000 minors competed in the tournament.

Last year, the Krasnodar Summer Futsal Cup among men’s amateur teams was held for the first time in the regional center. 8 teams took part in it. According to the results of the competition, the Dynamo team of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate won. During the summer holidays, a sports competition was organized for young Krasnodar residents at their place of residence. Over 2,800 children competed in 8 sports at once.

Last year, active work was carried out to popularize the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex GTO. Over 25,000 citizens passed the GTO standards. Of these, 5,960 people received the insignia.
