The Kostroma team won the Russian Chess Championship for the Blind

The Regional Committee for Physical Education and Sports reports that at the All-Russian chess tournament among blind athletes, held in Yaroslavl, the best result was shown by a team of chess players from Kostroma.
9 teams from 8 regions of Russia competed at the Yaroslavl tournament. Participants in the all-Russian competition came from Moscow, Moscow, Samara, Kostroma, Novosibirsk, Rostov regions, from the Republic of Khakassia and two groups of chess players from Dagestan.
The tournament was organized according to a round-robin system in three disciplines: regular chess – rapid play – team competition (B1, B2, B3). During the tournament, Kostroma chess players won 8 team victories out of 8 and scored 20 points out of 24 possible, becoming Russian champions in this discipline for the first time. Athletes from Khakassia took second place, and a team of chess players from Moscow took third place.
