Employees of the Investigative Committee found out the background to the murder of the director of the Emergency Department for the Novoperedelkino district, committed in 1996 in a house in the west of the capital. “MK” already told about solving the crime – professional killer Yakov Nikonov (last name changed) was detained for shooting a man. He has already confessed to a crime 27 years ago.
As MK learned, a resident of Kursk knew the deceased utility worker. In 1996, the director of the DEZ asked for help in solving a criminal incident that occurred with his son – some friends of the young man took money, several tens of thousands of dollars, out of the apartment. Nikonov, who already had a certain reputation in criminal circles, managed to resolve the conflict, and the crooks returned a large sum. Then he “decided” himself and turned to an official for help, asking for a loan of 20 thousand dollars. The Kursk resident was unable to pay back this money on time. One December day in 1996, he came to the director of the DEZ to ask for a deferment. In the common corridor, a quarrel broke out between the men, during which Nikonov shot the creditor. He explained this by saying that he was wanted and the official intimidated him that he would call the police.
Over the past 27 years, the man has been imprisoned several times, most recently for the murder of his “employer,” who hired Nikonov as a killer, but deceived him with the order. The gangster was released early, having signed a contract with the Wagner PMC to participate in the SVO. It was possible to expose him thanks to a fingerprint left at the scene of the murder of the director of the DEZ. According to Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, the investigation has collected a sufficient evidence base, and therefore the criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
