The Russian Bear sports school became the venue for the JKA Championship and Championship of the Traditional Karate Federation. The competition is timed to coincide with the 82nd anniversary of the start of the counteroffensive of Soviet troops near Moscow.
The tournament was attended by representatives of the “Combat Brotherhood”. They reminded those present of the immortal feat of those who defended their Motherland during the Great Patriotic War and called for support for new heroes – participants in the Northern Military District.
More than a hundred athletes from Serpukhov, Tula, Kaluga, Ryazan region and Moscow region competed for the title of the best. Karatekas from 6 years old and older met on the tatami in different age groups.
Judges also took part in the tournament. In demonstration performances, they demonstrated the highest class to young karatekas: the skill that athletes should strive for.
Several Serpukhovites received advanced level diplomas – they were awarded 1st dan black belts. The exam was administered by Japanese representatives of the JKA. This is a new step towards future victories and confirmation of mastery of the ancient martial art.
Based on the results of the competition, participants will be determined who will perform at the Russian Championship in Moscow in the spring.
