The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, said that the rock festival “Invasion” was postponed due to the difficulties that arose in connection with the construction of the necessary infrastructure. According to him, the transfer was not related to complaints from local residents.
“Here you had to do everything from scratch, and doing it in such a situation was difficult. It was because of this, not because someone spoke “against” or “for”,” said Mr. Shapsha “RIA News”.
According to the governor, the majority of people “have a positive attitude towards holding such a festival,” and when choosing a place, the authorities will make sure that “no one is offended and someone’s interests are affected.” “But the festival will definitely take place,” the governor assured.
“Invasion” planned to be held in the village of Mityaevo, Borovsky District, Kaluga Region, from 4 to 6 August. In early June, Vladislav Shapsha announced that the event would be postponed to 2024, and the venue would also be changed. Explaining the reason for the transfer, the governor said that “during the discussion (with the residents of the region.— ”b”) opinions were rightly sounded that now for the ”Invasion” is not the time.
The Invasion Festival, founded by the Nashe Radio radio station, has been held since 1999. Rock bands from Russia and neighboring countries took part in it. Until 2004, it was held in Moscow and the Moscow region, then in the Tver region. Since 2019, the festival has not been held, it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2023, the organizers announced the resumption of the event.
