Roscosmos: ISS orbit height corrected by 2.1 km before Soyuz arrival

With the help of Progress MS-22, the ISS orbit was corrected before the return of Soyuz MS-24 and the arrival of Soyuz MS-23 in September. Roskosmos reports.

“Today, the orbit of the International Space Station has been adjusted to ensure the launch of the Soyuz MS-24 manned spacecraft and the landing of the Soyuz MS-23,” the state corporation’s Telegram channel said.

The maneuver was carried out using the engines of the Progress MS-22 spacecraft. They were turned on at 09.27 Moscow time for 770 seconds, giving out an impulse at a level of 1.2 meters per second.

As a result, the total height of the orbit increased by 2.1 kilometers and amounted to 416.35 kilometers, Roscosmos explained.

The flight of the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft with its train is scheduled for September 15. The return of Soyuz MS-23 is expected on September 27th.
